  1. I like the layout of the cups here in two rows of four. PCS’s original vision staggered them, five and three, so that the asymmetry became part of the reason for the renunciation — to search for the missing cup. The use of light, and the nude walking into darkness, reminds me of the quotation on the tomb of King George VI of Britain, who has something like, “I said to the keeper of the new year, give me a light, that I may tread safely in dark places.” The keeper said, “Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God, which is safer than any light, and surer than any known way.” He’s walking away from wealth and light and prosperity and luxury, with not even clothes on his back, and all this surety is being left behind in favor of uncertainty and darkness. Go him!
